Recruitment Announcement: Second Batch of 5,000 Police Recruits

The Uganda Police Force is pleased to announce that the second batch of 5,000 police recruits has commenced today. Applications are now open starting September 7th and closing on September 19th. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications to the local District/Divisional Police Headquarters.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Joining the Uganda Police Force requires meeting specific educational qualifications and requirements. Applicants must be Ugandan citizens with a valid National ID and must have completed at least a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a minimum of five passes, including English and Mathematics, or its equivalent. Higher qualifications such as a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or a diploma are also encouraged.

Physical Fitness Tests and Training

Physical fitness is a crucial aspect of joining the Uganda Police Force. Applicants must undergo physical fitness tests and training to ensure that they are capable of meeting the demands of the job.

Requirements for Uganda Police Force Recruitment 2023

  • Possess a UCE Certificate (O’level) or its equivalent with at least 4 credits, including English, and a pass in maths. Those with qualifications higher than UCE should NOT apply.
  • Be a Ugandan citizen with a valid national identification number (NIN).
  • Have no criminal history
  • Prepare to complete the required twelve-month Police Basic Training Course.
  • Maintain physical fitness.
  • Prepared to work long hours and under challenging situations.
  • Prepare to work anywhere in the country.
  • Have strong communication abilities.
  • Must not have served as a serving officer in any of the Forces.
